French-speaking candidates\u00a0recruited for\u00a0temporary employment\u00a0in\u00a0managerial, professional or technical occupations and skilled trades, included in Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC), and who will be\u00a0working in a province or territory other than Quebec, can benefit from\u00a0streamlined and accelerated\u00a0processing of their Work Permit applications.<\/p>\n

This initiative reflects the Government of Canada\u2019s commitment to promote linguistic duality and supports the objectives of the\u00a0Immigration and Refugee Protection Act<\/em>\u00a0to enrich the bilingual character of Canada and assist the development of minority official language communities in Canada.<\/p>\n

The applicants can inform potential employers in Canada about the Labour\u00a0Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)\u00a0exemption under the\u00a0Francophone Significant Benefit – Avantage significatif francophone (FSB) special program.<\/p>\n

If the applicant\u00a0obtains a job offer and wants to make sure this LMIA exemption applies, the applicant must send an email to\u00a0the Visa office in Paris, France and must include certain requirements and information in order to assess their eligibility.<\/p>\n

The Canadian visa office in Paris will evaluate the inquiry and will determine whether an work permit must be issued. If granted, there may be a chance to obtain permanent residence in the future through this stream.<\/p>\n

This program aims to allow foreign workers to work in all provinces of Canada, not only in Quebec. Therefore a Certificate of Selection from Quebec will not be needed.<\/p>\n
