María Campos Ozaine is a lawyer licensed in both Mexico and Canada, with a binational career that combines experience, rigorous academic training, and a deep commitment to her clients. She currently leads her practice as an immigration lawyer in Canada, where she advises individuals of diverse nationalities in their efforts to settle in the land of the maple leaf. At the same time, in Mexico, she represents Canadian citizens in matters of real estate law, civil and commercial litigation, and other areas of private law.
María has an outstanding academic background: she holds two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees, and is currently pursuing a third master’s degree—demonstrating her ongoing dedication to continuous learning and in-depth legal knowledge. Her comprehensive training allows her to operate effectively in complex and multicultural legal environments, with a strong understanding of both the Canadian common law system and the Mexican civil law system.
How did María arrive in Canada?
María first visited Canada in 2005 as an exchange student at the University of British Columbia (UBC). After completing her undergraduate studies and first master’s degree in Mexico, along with an additional year of training in Europe, she permanently immigrated to Canada in 2008 under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, transferred by a multinational company. Once in Canada, she successfully completed all academic and professional requirements to practice law in her new country—on the first attempt—and has been practicing in Canada since 2012. Her story is one of perseverance, preparation, and discipline.
Throughout her career, María has provided legal services to prominent corporations in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, and has advised public figures including artists, high-profile athletes, and notable personalities from Mexico and Latin America.
Legal Leadership on Both Sides of the Border
In 2019, she founded Invicta Law Corporation, a firm through which she provides legal services in Canada. In 2024, she launched Canamex Law, a strategic initiative focused on serving the legal needs of Canadian citizens with interests in Mexico—offering the unique support of a lawyer with active licenses and practical experience in both legal systems.
